KnoxRides — Terms of Service

KnoxRides is an independent rideshare service operating in Knoxville and East Tennessee. KnoxRides is not affiliated with Uber, Lyft, or any other rideshare platform.

• Rides must be booked at least 8 hours in advance.
• When you book a ride, your payment method is authorized but not charged. Payment is only captured once your ride is confirmed by KnoxRides.
• If KnoxRides does not confirm your ride within 2 hours of booking, the authorization is automatically canceled and no charge is made.
• Fares are calculated based on distance, time, and applicable surcharges (night hours, airport pickup/dropoff, high-demand periods), and are shown to you before you confirm your booking.

• Cancellations made 8 or more hours before the scheduled pickup time receive a full refund.
• Cancellations made less than 8 hours before the scheduled pickup time are subject to a late cancellation fee of 20% of the trip price, with a minimum fee of $5.

By providing your phone number and booking a ride, you consent to receive text messages from KnoxRides related to your ride, including booking confirmations, driver arrival notifications, trip updates, receipts, and cancellation notices. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on rides booked. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for assistance. Consent to receive text messages is not required to book a ride by other means (e.g., contacting us directly).

Riders and drivers are expected to treat each other with respect. KnoxRides reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who violates this expectation.

Rides provided through KnoxRides are operated by drivers using their own personal vehicles and personal auto insurance, which may include a commercial or rideshare endorsement as required by Tennessee law. KnoxRides is not a common carrier and does not provide vehicles, drivers, or insurance coverage directly. To the fullest extent permitted by law, KnoxRides is not liable for accidents, injuries, or property damage arising during a ride; any such claims are the responsibility of the driver and their insurance carrier. Riders acknowledge they are choosing to ride in a personal vehicle operated by an independent driver.

KnoxRides provides transportation services on an as-is basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, KnoxRides is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.

KnoxRides may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
